Un vandali idiot

Раньше по этой ссылке можно почитать один из 2х уроков AULI изначального варианта языка ныне известного под именем Occidental. Уроки были написаны американцем Робертом Петри, который изображен на снимке.

Изображенный на снимке идиот сжег 14 000 - 18 000 страниц редких документов, книг и журналов на этом языке, скупленных им же на аукционе. Ниже приводится текст его письма, где он извещает об этом мировую общественность:

XX -- This text is only in English even though it is going to two different lists.

Early this afternoon my wife and I built a fire in our old barbeque pit, which we used to use when we were heavy meat eaters. This morning after receiving certain email on the interlingue list, and after reading some misinformation still on certain individuals' websites, and after reviewing the events of the last few months by certain individuals, I made a decision about Occidental, which we completed a short while ago.

As you all know, I have spent a great deal of time in the past two- 21/2 years searching for and gathering material from all over the world in Occidental/Interlingue. It appears that 50-75% of the material is non-replaceable, period. Anyway, becoming very tired of the response to Occidental, even by some like sr. K. who claims to be an Occidentalist, my wife and I decided this:

1. We would stop the tv shows.
2. We would quit speaking Occidental, or writing it, etc.
3. We would destroy every single page of Occidental that I have, both in and out of the computer. [somewhere between 14-18,000 pages].
4. We would shut down the webpages and close the discussion lists on Occidental.
5. And, no longer produce anything at all in or for Occidental.

So, it's all gone. Disks were burned, all the old copies of the journals, articles, grammars, dictionaries, all of it. I have not one piece of Occidental left, period. The computer I used for the Occidental scanning and ocring has had its hard drive reformatted. There is nothing. I'm a little sick in my stomach, but I'll be fine by tomorrow morning.

We decided to leave up the interlingue website for about a week so anyone who cares too can see the partial list of about half of what we had, that has now gone up in smoke.

What a ---- of a day.
